Are you sure your ports are configured proporly in bios? Try running CaL
from plain dos M$ Winblows is noisy sometimes:-)

I tried to use a par. link with my computer - did not work)-: Heard some
par. ports are mirrored.

Do you use a LED in the ser. cable? Some, but not all, com-ports needs them.

Take a careful look at the microjack - especially the tip - is it similar to
the one of the TI cable?
