severe problems overclocking 85
OK, I know there are gonna be people who will read this message and
reply w/ something like "well, you should have thought of that before,
stupid!". To the rest of you, I implore you for your help. I recently
tried overclocking my only calculator, the 85. However, I ran into some
major difficulty when I un-soldered the old C9 capacitor. Half of it
broke (fell?) off, and so did the tiny piece of solder that was on the
mother-board. I lost all my bearings onto where I was supposed to
attach the tiny sliver of wire from the switch that I had *kindof* setup
with the 1/NPO and C9 capacitors. I had the common wire on there fine,
but I couldn't figure out where to put the other half. I tried a direct
link onto the Z80 chip using the lead that looked like it'd work, but it
just gave me a scrambled screen and un-responsive buttons. I'm willing
to try anything now, because otherwise I can't use this thing at all. I
know this is serious, but if it's absolutely death-level and anyone
wants to take a look at it or something, I could take a pic of it w/ my
digital camera and send it to you. Also (and I seriously doubt this
one), if anyone has electronics as a hobby and wants to try their hand
at it, like I said, I'm willing to try anything. Thank you to anyone
who is sympathetic to my case.
