question: scientific vs engineering notation
Hi all, I am neither a mathematician nor an engineer. I have
what I think is a simple question: I know how scientific
notation works (EE on the calc) and how engineering notation
works, but I don't know why someone would choose one over the
other. Until I got my TI35 a few years ago (I now have a TI86),
I had never heard of engineering notation. What is the
motivation for using one notation over the other? --D
