There really is no difference. The backup is sent in the same way to a
calculator, as it is to the computer. The problem is that TI has not
put support for backups into their TI-86 software. Since the assembly
on the TI-86 is built in, there is no need to send a backup every time
it crashes. All you have to do is send the programs again. However, if
you just want to send everything at once, or if you want to hack the
backup, you need a way to save a backup.
