The ones you buy are TI's own cables, the one you make is not supported by
TI or thir transfer program. But don't worry.

Click on the link to my page at the bottom. Select the "my-links" button and
browse down to the TI83 section. You'll need to visit the ones called
"nick's calculator site......", (make cable)
"cal homepage" (transfer prog)
and "ti-philes" or "TIcalc.org" (possibly both. These are large files
archives)
