Re: Universal Link Library
Please people, don't post when you don't know what you are talking
about. You *CANNOT* write a program that will work on *ANY*
calculator. The only way to do that is to first write an all new
program language with compatibility in mind, kinda like C. Just like
ANSI C, you are *VERY* limited in commands, and the games/programs
made will be both bigger and slower. On IBM PCs, no one cares, since
it'll run at speed on a 233Mhz pipelining processor anyway, and their
1.6Gig harddrives and 32MB don't run out for quite a while.
On the TI-8x, programs need to be top-of-the-line. Just like TI-BASIC
programs are unacceptable to most zshellers, so will this new thing be
unacceptable. Sure, it'll be better and faster than ti-basic, but it
won't be as good as current zshell stuff.
HAL is making a beginning towards some sort of compatibility, but some
work is always needed.
