Re: Solver Equations on TI-85
To store an expression, equation, or formula to an equation-type variable,
enter the variable name on the Home Screen followed by an equal sign,
followed by the formula. For example, this stores a formula for finding the
area of a rectangle:
AREA=L*W
You can also store equations to variables:
PYTHAGOR=A^2+B^2=C^2
It looks weird with the two equal signs, but it works. When the name of an
equation variable is used in the Solver, the TI-85 internally replaces it
with the expression or equation that is stored in that particular variable.
For example, if I type AREA=L*W on the home screen, I could enter AREA in
the Solver, press Enter, and the TI-85 would use the expression L*W in the
place I had typed AREA.

Subject: Solver Equations on TI-85
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I got ZShell from a freind, and
there are equations stored in the solver, so i can call them up and solve
for variables. Apparently this memory backup has gone through more people
than we can find, so we don't know who originally put the equations
there. My friend and I want to know how to store equations into solver.
We've managed to make them show up, but when we try to solve them, we get
a syntax error. After spending hours on this problem, we dicided to ask
for help.
Sorry if this question doesn't make much sense.
