TI-Graph Link Problem
I have had the TI-Graph Link for about a year now, and have used it with
a 486DX4/100 with 4 COM ports using IRQs 3,4,9 & 5. I don't know how on
earth this set up worked on that machine because I had a printer using
one of those IRQs and a sound card using one. I have now upgraded to a
K5 PR166 with two COM ports built into the motherboard that can be
configured to be COM 1 thru 4. They are set up as UART 1 => COM 1 and
UART 2 => COM 2. Also, I have a USR Sportster using COM 3 as a PnP
device. COM 3 is using 5. I have my sound card using 10 now, so there
should be no conflicts at all, even the printer is using 7. COM 1 and 2
are using 4 and 3 as IRQs.
Every time I try to upload or download something from the TI or PC, I
get a transmission link error. I have checked the connections to the TI
and to the PC and have even run diag. software on the port and get no
errors. Even if I change my mouse from COM 1 to 2, I still get the same
error from COM 1.
I am also using a link cable for a BOOKMAN SideKick that does basically
the same thing as the TI-Link, and that gets errors also.
ANY IDEAS? I am totally out.
Well, except for the idea that maybe my two COM ports on the motherboard
should be set as either 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. That's the only idea I
have, could this be the case? I was going to try to change these, but I
wanted to post a message and get a response first.
Thanks for any help!
