I agree too. People are too dependent on the calculators/computers
in so many things we do, not just in mathematics. But, I have found
just as many people who do not use calculators/computers when they realy
should. I'm not sure which group is larger. I'm sure glad I'm not taking
calculus from a teacher who will not let any kind of calculator/computer
be used for any kind of work. In fact I've hear rumors that students must
hide there calculators when they go in his class room, lest they be
"asked to leave". I hope this teacher never teaches statistics.
Calculators/Computers are tools, just tools, use them to help you
but don't let them control you, but for God's sake use them if you
need to.
