I checked it with a multimeter. There is no broken connection inside the port.

Another aspect:

Next week my university is offering a lot of calculator-stuff. They will sell
the TI-92 with 256KB, graph-link, and a cd-rom (maybe the transfersoftware)
for 459,- DM. That will be around $255 (with $1 ~ 1,80 DM). Any comments to
this price?
