It really depends on what you want/need to do.  If you want to do complex
graphs, and complex geomtry functions, use the TI-92.  If you want to do
Scientific functions, use the HP48GX.  I have only used an HP twice, but I
own a TI-92, and I recommend the TI-92 over the HP.  It has a larger
support, and it is easier to use than the HP.  Unless you like Reverse
Polish Notation.  Good luck in finding the right one.
