Probably because it's not a physical constant. I just add it myself on the
TI-85 with the constant editor. Does the TI-86 use the a+bi format for
displaying complex numbers, or does it use (a,b) like the TI-85?

I just picked up a TI86 at the local Wal-Mart for $119.95.  Neat!  A new
instruction book design!  One question. . .why wouldn't ti make i
(imaginary number) a built in constant?  It's used probably as much as pi!
