TI-82 assembly shells?

TI-82 assembly shells?
I'm new here; I have an 82 and was wondering about the various
assembly-language shells and programs. I've seen OSshell82 (briefly), and
heard of one called ASH (or something), and was wondering about several
things:
• How were they created?
• How do they work?
• What kind of risks (ex.gra., deleting other mem, etc.) are involved?
• How can I write programs in assembly?
If you are familiar with these shells and know this, I'd appreciate some
info.
