Re: a better equation solver for the ti-86

I am writing a program for the TI-85 (I will ensure TI-86 compatibility) that
will solve many types of equations, such as quadratic, rational, etc. Although
it will not allow freely typing any equation, it has a very large library of
equation types it knows how to solve. It will give all real and complex
solutions, and automatically filter extraneous solutions from rational
equations. It is based on Super Solver for the TI-83 (available currently),
and should be released within a month; maybe earlier.

Almost all math programs are written in BASIC. Although some ASM programmers
shudder when they see a BASIC program, they forget that ASM is pretty useless
for making good math programs. :)

Subject: a better equation solver for the ti-86

I recently bought a ti-86 and will begin using it in school in 2 days (
school starts in 2 days ;-( yuck) I was wondering if anyone has written
a better equation solver for the 86 (like the 92). On the 86, as well
as on the other 80 series calculators only one answer is given to the
equation (the number closest to but greater than the number already in
the space, or below if no answer greater is acceptable) and complex
answers are not shown. I understand that this is a fairly complicated
program, especially the complex answer part, but if anyone would like
to assist me in writing this program, i would greatky appreciate it. Or
better yet, if anyone can pull some strings with TI and have the code
released from the 92 (or even a compiled ti-86 asm version). I know the
ti-86 basic language, and am willing to learn the asm for the 86.

Anyone that would like to help or knows of such a program already
written, please write to me at:

Thanks,
