Re: TI-92 vs TI-85
[Prev][Next][Index][Thread]
Hello. Having tried both, here's my opinion. Note, I'm not an expert on
either of these, in fact, for the last 5+ years, I've been using a standard
scientific calc, none of this graphics/solver stuff.
Anyhow, I am/was really impressed with the ti-92. Only thing that bothered
me, and bothered me enough to return it and get a ti-85 (after trying an
HP48gx) was the rather crappy display. Seems the angle on it is wrong, or the
clear cover should have been a satin finish rather than glossy. Whatever the
reason, I find it difficult to read. Seems its either too light, or when I
adjust the brightness to darken it, is seems like the background gets too
dark, and the text is still hard to see. Mind you, I don't wear glasses, or
am blind - the display on the ti-83/85 is just fine to read.
I'd buy it again in a heartbeat if they fixed, or I could do something about
that problem.

: 1) Fargo, assembly for the 92 is being released tomorrow (9/28), so
: basically yes.
: 2) Umm... well, basic? You can convert 85 basic to 92 basic.. but you
: might have to mess with it, and with SEND92 for zshell you can store 85
: vars on the 92.
: 3)All the cables are the same..
