Converting TI-82 program to TI-83

I'm attempting to convert a TI-82 program for use on a TI-83.  I have tried
to use the link software to convert it.  I have also tried to connect the
TI-82 and TI-83 directly.  Most of the program converts fine, but on the
TI-83 any command which uses sin, cos, and tan place an additional ( after
the function i.e. - sin(.  This causes an error when you run the program.
Is there anyway to type in sin without the (?
