$5 Parralel link

Ive built the $5 Parralel Link and it wont work.  Im wondering if anyone
can help me out.


Heres what I get with linktest.com-
(Calculator plugged in, turned off)
send 00 - read 10 - should be 00
send 01 - read 20 - should be 20
send 02 - read 10 - should be 10
send 03 - read 30 - should be 30


(Calculator plugged in, turned on)
send 00 - read 10 - should be 00
send 01 - read 20 - should be 20
send 02 - read 00 - should be 10
send 03 - read 30 - should be 30


Got any ideas what could be wrong?  No wires are touching and it all
matches the diagram.  Is it possible that the diodes got too hot when I
was saudering?  Is it possible that your diagram is inccorect in the
directions of cathodes/anodes?  Whats the problem!
