I guess it differs from time to time. I just tried with 3 different
TI-85s and none of them would crash when you took out a battery when
the calc was on, not even when pressing the ON-button. Two of them
did however loose their contrast setting so contrast where set to 0
when the calc was turned on again, BUT the memory was intact!


I also tried with a couple of TI-82s. One of them was completely
reset as soon as I took out a battery. The other one was not reset,
but was showing odd patterns on the screen when turned on!


My theory is that the calcs have a mind of their own and act as they
feel, i.e. _unpredictable_.
