My very first calc was a Casio fx-9700GE. I was a die-hard casio fan until I
bought my TI-85. I would not recommend to anyone to buy a Casio. For one
thing, the icon menus will slow you down after a while. Every time you want
to do a different kind of calculation, you have to switch menus and click on
a different icon to get it to do the type of calculation you want. (Basic
calculations, matrixes, graphs, programming). As for the color, it's not
that great. I think it's really hard to tell the colors apart. Besides,
what practical value is it?
Another thing: Casios cannot be programmed in assembly. Even the
programming language it has is very different than anything I've ever seen.
It's also very weak and has only a few commands (Doesn't even have GetKey).
This makes any very complex programs or games almost impossible.
The good points of a Casio, however, are its ability to do imaginary numbers
and graph inequalities. I would still recommend a TI (preferably an 85)
