I know someone who got a ti brand link for the purpose of opening it and
copying it. According to him, it would cost so much to get all the parts
for construction (assuming that you figure out the connections) that
you'd be better off buying the $50 ti link.
I have and use the $5 link cable. You can find out about it at
www.ticalc.org . The $5 link is compatable with several non-ti link
programs, and it will even let the ti85 emulator communicate with a real
ti85. The $5 cable is also the easiest home made link cable to build. I
recommend it.
