There is an important difference! The 85 with ROM version 9.0 or higher (I
think) is called a CBL (calculator based laboratory) because it can
interface with a new measuring device (thermometer, etc.) The ROM has
additional commands for sending and receiving data to the CBL device, or
another ti-85 ROM 9.0. If you look at the serial number on the back by the
batteries, there should be a "CBL" at the end, or something like that. As
for the syntax of the commands, I have ROM 3.0a, so I am unfamiliar with
the specifics. I'm sure that someone here knows.
