A92: TI-89 Screen size and FLASH memory

Hey Shawn,
The Ti92 screen has 128x240 pixels
The Ti89 will have only 100x160.
How is this going to be resolved? What will happen if you write
a program for the 92 and transfer it to the 89? what will it do if
It tries to write off the screen? Nothing, I assume. It would be
nice if you could have some way of making ALL 92 programs work
on the 89 without much hassle.

Another problem is writing ASM programs. I'm sure almost
everyone who uses assembly would be very thankful if ASM
programs written for the 89 would run flawlessly on the 92.
This might be impossible, but it would be nice at least if you
just had to recompile it. The main problem here (I think) would
again be the screen size. My solution-- Reserve the same size
memory block for the screen on the 89 as you do on the 92/92+.
But only show part of it. Maybe this isn't feasable, but it sure
would be nice.

Another concern I have is about the flash memory. You said you
had been working hard to make sure an errant ASM instruction
couldn't wipe out the ROM. Are you going to allow a non-errant
instruction to change it? Or will the only way to change it be
through the link port? The main thing I'm concerned about is
that I want to be able to update the ROM through my homemade
link. TI doesn't have to support this in the graphlink software,
but it would be nice if you could provide Information on how
to write our own program that would do that, or at least make
it easily hackable :)
