Unless this modem can be set to a DTE rate of 9600, then you're outta
luck. If the modem supports v.42bis compression, then chances are it
supports a 9600 baud DTE rate. You may still have to set this from your
computer before you can use this modem, though. Read the manual that came
with your modem (presuming you have it) on the specific commands you need.


You should be able to set the modem to default to a 9600 baud DTE rate on
power-on.
