The current problem with using some other cable other than the
TI-GraphLink is that the GraphLink already converts the TI-port into an
RS232 which is requirede to hook up the modem to. Using a parallel link
will then require building a box that can convert parallel signal into
RS232 signals. As you can see, this can get complicated VERY fast.
