[A89] Re: Clarification

You may have an old version of TI-Connect. I just tried it, and it successfully deleted a variable for me (V200 w/AMS 2.08;TI-Connect 1.1) It makes a lot of sense for TI to grab the DelVar command from the catalog because DelVar could be represented differently on language-localized calculators.

Interesting... perhaps the AMS doesn't initalize the clock variables after a reset? Sounds like a ten minute project on a rainy day...

I noticed a bug with TI-Connect and AMS 2.08: in either Device Explorer or
Group Explorer or whatever (I can't remember), if you delete a file, it uses
the "remote control" feature to type the command to delete the selected
files. But, it gets "DelVar" from the Catalog to select that command and
"type" it from the Home Screen. Because of the added commands in 2.08, the
position DelVar was in is now DelFold, so the delete function doesn't work
anymore. Why they just didn't have the program type the letters "DelVar"
instead of using the Catalog is beyond me. Besides, it's too slow to be
useful; I'd rather just go to the Var/Link menu and delete them myself.
Anyway...

Also, taking out the AAAs batteries will make it off because the clock
doesn't run while they're out. So don't leave the batteries out long when
you change them. :-) Other than that, I've found the clock to be quite
accurate. I don't reset much so I don't know about that.

I noticed some weird things about the clock when the batteries are low,
though. For some reason, I would set the clock and it would work, but then
when I checked the clock the next day, the clock was turned off and it went
back to the time and date it was at when I turned the clock back on. It kept
doing that several times. I don't know if it was due to low batteries; the
only time it did that was when I had low batteries.

Also, one time my calc completely crashed and I lost both RAM and Flash ROM.
But then I noticed that the clock still held its date and time! Weird. :-)
