A89: rom clear

Does anyone know of a way (for the 89) that will make it look as if your ROM 
is cleared (without clearing it)?
Or a way to change what is displayed at the memory/varlink screen or disable 
the "rom/ram/all" clearing at the memory screen?
also, a way to hide (or preferrably, protect, like with doors where it is 
totally hidden) a FOLDER from a BASIC program, would also help. THANKS!!
