I used the chronometer on my wristwatch and the bytecounts from my modem
connection monitor from the taskbar in Win98 last month to measure it,
'cause it was going way fast according to netscape and I was
suspicious. I got about 10.2 kilobytes per second. Too bad it didn't
last; that was nice. Now I routinely get a crappy 26400 (I had 36800 at
the time, making it odder still), so I'll not see that again for a
while. But it is possible.
