No, James, when I say something so simple that definitively, you should
usually take my word for it.  The port's address is still the same, except
it is not functional on HW2 calcs.  I received some info a few months ago
from TI, stating that it will work with certain addresses - that is not true
(I spent several months testing it), but my point is that TI acknowledges
the port is the same but modified due to the changes in the LCD hardware.  I
can't find it now, but it's been posted in on this list before if anyone has
it archived - includes mention of a "hardware gate array" if you want to use
a search for it. . .
