Re: A89: >1-bit sound on the 89
It's cause french people are a lot more industrious and intelligent than us
american guys (hey, admit it, all of the great proggies have usually been
made by french peoples, including HW2 patches and all that junk) We've gotta
give 'em credit, they DO have a superiority factor when it comes to calc
stuff, but thank goodness to babelfish.altavista.com:P
In any case, as for the 1-2-4-8 bit music stuff. Take a look at music86
stuff in the sound section of the ti-86 asm programs, it's actually real
music, real staticy, but like real music with voices etc.

<< Forgive me for my lack of calc hardware knowledge... I understand that
link port 1-bit sound is created by rapidly switching the link on and
off (correct me if I'm wrong). Are there any possible methods for
making sound with greater bit-depth (i.e. 2-bit, 4-bit, 8-bit, etc.)?
That would create some interesting potential for sound/music synthesis.
On a side note, and out of sheer curiosity, is there any reason in
particular why a disproportionate amount of TI calc programmers are
French? Not trying to discriminate or anything, just simply wondering
:)
