Mine has done that a few times when I tried to run corrupted programs.  The
only way I could recover was to pull all the batteries out (including the
backup), wait about a minute, and reinsert the batteries.  You will lose
everything on the calculator when you do this.  I now keep a backup of
everything on my calculator and I have used it at least four times!  As for
plusshell 1.0, I have it on mine and it is working fine.
