Well, it's original incarnation was about as slow as 10base-t ethernet.
Now the fastest is about 80MB/s, using ultra-wide scsi-2. I think you
can go to www.scsi.org for more info...
You want to see windows load fast? do a 10,000 RPM UW scsi drive in a
dual-450 PII system(with all the other extras, of course, but I was
pleasantly surprised at how great a difference the HD made.
Unfortunately Creative Labs did not have an NT driver for the DVD
decoder card, so I had to get rid of the second processor, and go back
to win98, at which time CL put the NT driver on their web site(their
tech carefully explained to me that they have no intention of supporting
nt 4.0... grrr...))
