wouldn't complete coding in hex be more basic than assembly?

Note that assembly language cannot "suck" at anything as it the most basic
code possible. It gives the programmer 100% control over the hardware, and
thus, any good assembly program will function to the full capability of the
ti-86....... It just takes a good programmer.
