It sounds like you're trying to do something pretty complex. I once tried to 
emulate just part of the OS inside a shell, just as an experiment, and I 
found that it was actually easier to write my own routines (especially for 
math) than to try interfacing with the TI-OS menus.

What is the aim of your program? Maybe you could post some of your code so I 
can see how you're integrating the menus into your program.
