I'm no expert, but common sense indicates that it would not be illegal to
give someone a copy of something they already own.  Just as it is legal to
download NES ROMS or MP3s of games and songs you already own.

Incidentally, thats how I got ROMs for my 85 and 86.  I had trouble getting
a ROM dump on my calcs, so I got copies of them from a friend with the same
ROM versions.
