That is absurd. The processor type does not affect the
serial ports. The serial ports are motherboard-controlled.
And, even then, protocols and setups don't change from
board to board. If your link doesn't work, your system
is mis-configured (which happens often in Win32,
especially to COM ports). The OS you use and the other
devices you have installed on your computer are all that
affects COM port reliability.
