Actually, you're wrong there :)
Hard drive - data storage (computer will work w/o one, but no operating
system will boot because it would be missing a boot sector [not to
notice also a complete OS])
RAM - Random Access Memory. Computer WILL NOT turn on without any ram.
Ram are peices of hardware (usually 1"x3"-4" by a few mm in size). There
are different types of ram used depending on the motherboard, all work the
same (pretty much, excluding speed and parity).. These are: 30 PIN SIMM
(these were the old ones used back in the day :) ) 72 PIN SIMM -- Most
common types of ram.. and the DIMM (128 pin?) -- must more storage
capable, holds a sh*tload of ram, also double-sided I believe.. :)
Question: Does SIMM stand for [S]ingle [Insertable] [M]emory [M]odule, and
DIMM mean the same but [D]ouble.. ?
