If you didn't have a COM port on your PC, then you wouldn't be able to use the
internet.  Something to try is going into the GraphLink Software, then unhook
your mouse.  Plug in the graphlink in there.  If that doesn't work, you may
need to do like I did.  Find someone with a Laptop.  It seems that the
GraphLink is very touchy about what kind of PC it uses....
