You wouldn't need a nice interface, or anything fancy. It wouldn't take
more than 20-30k, which isn't too much at all. I mean, when you are
programming, what else do you have on there? You wouldn't need anything
extra like include files, just print them out. There aren't that many calls
you use, are there? An on-calc assembler would sure beat looking at an
opcode chart every 3 seconds. Even though you get to memorizing the more
common ones, it's still not too much fun. The crashing problem can be
overcome by sending the source program to a friend's calc. I know everyone
can't do this, so just be careful. Maybe a util to send to/from any
82/83/85/86 calc? That sure would be great.
I know that may be stretching it a little, but it could be done. But
really, it takes too long to type in code on the calc. When I write out
routines in class, I use the old paper and pen. Then go home and type it
in.
