Pi doess have an exact value, but its decimal representation has an
infinite number of digits in a non-repeating pattern. Here's part of the
entry on pi from the Encyclopedia Britannica:
"The ratio is approximately 3.14159265, pi being an irrational number (one
that cannot be expressed as a simple fraction or AS A DECIMAL WITH A FINITE
NUMBER OF DECIMAL PLACES) and a trancendental number (ONE WITHOUT
CONTINUOUSLY RECURRENT DIGITS)." (My caps)
It CAN be written as a Taylor or McLaurin series, but both of these
represent a polynomial with an infinite infinite number of terms.
