That's most likely true. Though limited wireframe 3D could be used. (As I
did in the TANK HUNT).

I think that most people owning a TI-85 consider it
rather expensive and are not willing to buy any 500$ calc just to play
with it in class. Or are willing to risk the "lives" of their calcs just
to hear midi when their home PCs can do it a lot better. Anyway the TI-85
doesn't differ that much from old computers with games like pacmac.
Actually I'd estimate (I'm not an expert) that TI-85 is a match for the
on-flight computers of the Apollo program.

Most of the modern games of today are like pacman with the only
difference that they use beautiful graphics and sounds
cover up the fact that the developers don't know how to make a really
entertaining game.

That's why on a machine like TI-85 programmers should consider the idea
and the playability of the game, rather than how good it looks. (I've
spent many classes playing hexagon.)

I'm doing now a game similar to games like C&C, DUNE2 and WARCRAFT called
WAR (for now). I've though that it could be playable either in single or
two player modes. The control of the units is based on "orders" given to
the tanks like Kill target unit, or Move to location. So far there are two
tanks, the other runs away with Move and the other comes after with Kill.
(BTW, I could use some help on the AI for the singlemode.) The graphics
are crude 8x8 sprites moving 8 pixels at a time, but the game will be
atleast as playable as DUNE2.

If someone wants to see what I've done so far just notify me and I'll put
the program to my ti85 page.
