Mel, take a look at S-MOS Systems Inc. They make the RAM chip in my 85.
It's a standard SRAM chip and it costs only <$10. This is a 32Kx8 SRAM
chip. P/N is SRM20256L10. Or try the part from Sony, CXK58257M-10LL,~$7.
Both of these parts are the SOP package.
