Look, the link protocol is response-syncronised.. i.e. it NEEDS
another calc on teh other end. You can't use an asyncronous protocol
with teh ti-85 due to the variable speed problem, though you could
use an external crystal clock source. so the reason for a stereo
track is to have one the clcok syncronisation and the other data
trandfer. If you wnat to use a mono recording, you need to have an
external crystal clock circuit attached to one of teh data lines, and
the tape input attached to the other line and the calc can read data
based on teh clcok signal.
