I sugest use the Bport (IO port) for intercomunications 
with some other external microcontroller (PIC,atmel,etc..)
Learn how to program de TI (z80 asm) ...
and you can find some routines like i2c in sources folder 
of ticalc.org

You even use the TI bit protocol...
