in the meantime you can get a pretty easy 'breakpoint' by doing
di \ halt
:)

The method I use is at the beginning of my program, I do this:

.db "BREAKD"
.dw label

then I use the VTI text search feature for BREAKD in the memory viewer, then 
I see the address of the label, so I can make that a breakpoint...

But I think the ld b,b thing would probably be easier.
