I can do automatic assembling fine, I just set ASM.BAT as one of my tools.  
(This is for Textpad)

Filename: C:\TI83\asm\asm.bat
Parameters: $Basename
Inital Folder: C:\TI83\asm\


$Basename is the file without the extension.
