That may be true, but it can also drain power from your calc. As long as
the graphlink software is running, the serial port is active and receives
power from the computer. If you plug your calc in without the software
running, I read that the hardware in the cable will draw power from your
calc instead. Probably not a whole lot, but it would add up after a long
enough time.
