Maybe the 83+ has something like the 89 has. On the 89, the flash is "locked" by
a extra little curcuit in hardware. To "unlock" it, you have to do 3 reads, from
a special memory area somewhere in flash, (for example instruction fetches, when
you execute code there), directly followed by a write to another memory area..
There must not be any read or write to any other place inbetweed.
sounds simple enough, but it is quite tricky to get around. (but it is
possible).
I wouldn't be suprised if there was something similar on the 83+. In fact, I
would be suprised if there wasn't.
