Re: Re: A82: Thoughts on Break Dance...

WARNING : The following mail might contain misspelled words, bad English...

Several times since I joined this list people have written to me
complaining about my English, and until now I have ignored it, but after
all the messages about Break Dance I am not going to do this anymore.

It is, of course, pretty easy for Americans to write good English but if
you are not used to write English it is actually pretty hard. I am trying
to write the best English that I can, but it does not look like it is
enough.

I can understand that people ask question if they are not able to
understand what I am writing, but most of the time the mistakes that
people are complaining about are very small. Someone mail me telling me
that me English was impossible to understand, mainly because I spelled
routine without an o. I do not mind that people ask question if they can
not understand what I am writing, but I do not like if people fell they
have to correct every spelling mistake I ever made.

When I am replying to someone email I think that it is more important
wether it takes 1 day or 1 week, than wether routines is spelled with an o
or not. If you do not feel that way, try mailing someone from the US.

As it is very unlikely that my English will get a lot better over night,
the only solution I can see to the problem is to stop writing in English
(I am much better at spelling in Danish) :-).

When I release a program, I spend time on writing some documentation, and
I also try to document the source code so other people can understand what
it is the code does. However I am not sure wether I will continue doing
this as long as I receive so many comments about my spelling. Why should I
maintain an Ash School, if my English is impossible to understand ?

BTW some spaces might look like an underscore, that is not my fault, the
email program made them when i pressed space.
