Preview of Bomberbloke
Posted on 12 August 1998, 02:54 GMT

Matthew Shepcar is currently developing Bomberbloke, a Bomberman clone for the TI-86. Features include grayscale graphics, 13 different powerups (megabombs, shields, flamethrowers, speed increases, etc.), 6 types of monsters, monsters that can lay eggs and hatch into new monsters, five bosses, and 25 levels. There will also be multiplayer support with two players on one calculator, and even link play so four players can play at once. Matt is aiming for a public release sometime in September.

Good job. People are starting to make games that have a good backround. Games that would be fun for more that just a little bit. I think that you should just release the beta version to the public since so many people want to be testers. But of course, that may get people bored of it before the best version came out. I would really like to be a tester, so please email me.

I agree with The Great aArdvark. Everyone should stop chatting in the comments. And also stop asking to be a beta tester in them too! He asked for people to EMAIL him requests to be a beta tester not to post them in the comments.

I was kind of wondering if it would be posible to play 2 players across the link. Personally I like play games across a link much better than 2P on the same calculator. It is much easier than crowding 2 people onto the same small object. It would be really good if both forms of 2P playing options would be possible. This game looks like it is going to be cool!

Yep, you can play a two player game over the link already! It works great! :) In fact, if you want, two people can play on each calculator giving you the possibility of a four player game.. but quite how four people could sit around two calculators with a short link cable I don't know. :)

The game looks awesome and looks fairly complete, especially if you have both kinds of 2p options working, so i was wondering what is left to do and
also if there is going to be level support like in sqrxz and mario86 and i think that 4 players at once would be cool it would also be a landmark in ti-linking games...
