I'm actually in the process of creating new, useful and original application using Basic Builder. It should be released by Friday.

I'd go for a game with a great story. I'm not great at programming storylines (very few people are) so all I do is shrink games and make things that pop into my head. I'm working on a fps with a storyline right now, it should be pretty cool.

I voted 'Useful application (improvement)', because there are several very interesting projects, but it's like their developers are totally evaporated.

I'd like to see MirageOS 1.3; an improved CrunchyOS with more compressed programs, or an easier way to compress programs yourself; more USB functionality and compatibility on usb8x/msd8x; an so on... :-)

Or more development completed on a program like MulTI, the z80 emulator for 68k calcs.

Yes!
A game with excellent graphics is needed very much!!!
Because of my TI-89 Titanium i suggest to make a separate TI-89 Titanium category for games and apps that are comtabile without any patches (Like ghostbuster or HW3Patch)

I've been working on a new TI-89 game that works on the Titanium. Its not 3D or anything, but the graphics aren't terrible. See Web Page.

Is ticalc.org was down for a while, or it is just me?

Tempted to vote for a sequal to WFRNG :P

But seriously, I would like to see more hardware projects involving the calculators. More development with the USB on the 84s and 89Ti would be great! *crosses fingers*

BTW, how many people know what WFRNG is? I do, even though I wasn't around back then ;)

Why does everyone like that program? It is simply a mediocre, if not worse, guessgin game. There is absolutely nothing that I know of that makes it special. (If there is, I would like to know.)

There are two groups of people who praise such a program:
1. "BASIC Loverz"
2. /Real/ people joking about the program's simplicity. ;)

Even BASIC Loverz would wish such program wouldn't exist... at least the BASIC Loverz from calc forums...

Except WFRNG is an exception since it's meant to be a joke

It is an ongoing inside joke at ticalc, it was never made to be anything amazing. I am not really sure what the whole story behind it is because it was before my time here. But its not just a crappy program, there is a story behind it. And about being on the PC I believe there is actually a bootable floppy.

ah, ok. That clears up why the reviews say it is the best game ever.

They did that joke because there were way too many of those programs (or worse) being uploaded on ticalc, so they decided to make a parody of the whole thing by making a huge thing about a simple number guessing game. I did something similar two years ago. Because of the lack of originality from new coders while there was increasingly more powerful BASIC helpers and undocumented programming tricks discovered I decided to make a grayscale number guessing game using xLIB and one of my friend made a grayscale quadratic solver that hardly does anything
